I can relate to the original story where the brother and sister went for a swim and the female died and her brother survived his bump in the head while desending towards the bottom of the pool....about 20 yrs ago my wife and i went to a little beach hotel/bar/restaurant about 40 miles from san diego into mexico because my wife won a 2 night 3 day stay there. like the couple with their parents said; we checked in about 3 p.m. on a friday; quickly settled into our hotel room then decided to have a cold one at the bar.. we both had 1 and a half margarita glasses of their booze...they were tasty and cold but, within 20 mins. my wife went to the restroom and did not come out for awhile; so i went to investigate and she was almost pasted out on the toilet bowl with diareah and vastly drunk...i took her to the hotel room and she lay in bed for 24 hrs and could not eat and kept vomiting....my story is.....mexican bartenders always make margaritas many times stronger for gringos ...tourist....knowing that we basically have money to blow and they love to take advantage of us. you have to watch the prices of drinks also...my wife and i finally returned to san diego after she could only eat crackers from the restaurant....I am a mexican/american and my wife is white, so i speak spanish fluently so i always watch out to make sure no mexican from mexico tries to take advantage of gringos. bottomline is: if you have 5 shots or 5 margaritas in mexico at a bar....unless you are a lush....you will not be able to drive, swim, function, eat and if your tolerance for straight alcohol is low...you will surely dye in mexico or any latin country where this drink is pushed heavyly....so tourist, beware....we never went back to anypart of mexico again and now with all the crime, cartels....beheadings...forget it....
