I was walking the beach in Cancun one day in the middle of the day, when they were pulling a lifeless person from the water. I asked one of the guards (Spanish is my first language)if this happens often, and I was told that "no". So I inquired further and I said, "well, how many would you say a week?" and he replied "only about XX a week"!!!! (I forget, quite frankly the exact number he said, but to me it was staggering!) The trouble is apparently the rip tide of the East coast of Cancun. Add to this some drinking and you've got trouble. (And needless to say, if this would happen at night, the person(s) would not stand a chance of getting out of the water alive. Thank you for this site, I have certainly changed y future
