Our wonderful family vacation was ruined by what we thought was excess drinking by our son when now we realize he ingested unregulated alcohol or was drugged. Our son arrived on Sunday and had no other alcohol but tequila shots on Monday. He blacked out and vomited uncontrollably for hours that turned into the next day. We sought medical care from Iberosar Par Del Mar multiple times to no avail. Finally they sent him to the hospital on Wednesday. The hospital did not want our health insurance card but our credit card. The cab that took him to the hospital waited for him and demanded $160 in cab fare. His treatment in Mexico was subpar but he seemed recover. His recovery was short lived and he flew back to the US and was hospitalized again with some serious issues. After multiple tests and medication, he did recover. We notified our credit card of the situation as well as our health insurance. Fortunately, his hospital stay in Mexico was covered. The Mexican hospital was very difficult to deal with but, they eventually gave in. Between the poor medical care provided by Iberostar, the hospital and the cab company, we would not be surprised if they aren't in cahoots with each other. By the grace of God, our son was able to recover. He was lucky to say the least. Our entire family drank alcohol but our one son almost suffered permanent damage due to poor quality alcohol or drugging. Please, let's find a way to stop this! No one's love one should be harmed while on vacation.
