Hi, I saw the article and I experienced something very similar in 2010.
I went to Cozumel on a cruise and while walking on the strip shops there was this shop where two guys were selling jewelry. Me and my friend went in and they offered "free gifts" which were cheap ankle jewelry. Soon after they offered "free drinks" and it was on a tequila bottle. Now, I never take anything from strangers but since my friend took it I was like whatever--I took one shot. We left the shop. After 3-5 minutes we started feeling funny. Numb feelings on hands, legs, around the face. I have never done drugs but my friend had and she told me that was a drugged drink. We walked to the nearby Mc Donalds, got waters, drank water real fast and induced vomit. I felt better after throwing up. I made sure I puked all of it until there was nothing left. It was a really weird experience. Thankfully we both made it out of Cozumel on time to catch the boat. If we hadn't puke I dont know what would had happened. Hope this helps somehow.
