Since finding your site a few months ago, I contemplated messaging you with my experience in Mexico as I wasn't sure if it was a case of drinking in the sun or something else. But after reading other peoples experiences, I am certain mine was a similar case.
I was vacationing in Riviera Maya at Grand Bahia Principe last fall when my boyfriend and I met a group of people that we were hanging out with by the pool. Everyone was drinking beers and enjoying themselves when (as I was told), one of them found me passed out, outside of the bathroom on the ground. I don't remember getting there, I don't remember how long I was out for, I don't even remember my boyfriend and the people we met, bringing me back to the room. The last thing I recall was wading in the pool with everyone, having a good time.
I am quite certain that I was drugged as my boyfriend said he brought me back to the hotel room and I was out cold for 7 hours, only waking up at 11:45pm to use the washroom.
During this trip, we were also in need of my bf to see a doctor as when he was swimming, he hurt his arm but after being told that it would be $200 USD just to see him, we decided against it.
We are quite lucky that our occurrences did not turn out deadly and my heart goes out to those that didn't have the same outcome.
