I went to Puerto Vallarta a few years ago. We stayed at one of the biggest resorts there. We didn't have much of an issue with drinks, etc. but the prices for massages and other services were more than here in the U.S. I had taken a good amount of cash with me so that I wouldn't have to use my credit card. I only used my credit card at ONE place, the Hertz Rent-a-car, and after I returned to the States, I had charges from a liquor store and a clothing store on my card. DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD IN MEXICO!!!
